Professional Information

Karen Juarez is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC Associate) in the state of Texas and practices under the supervision of Nancelina Piernik, LPC-S.

Confidentiality

Your privacy is important. All information shared in therapy is kept confidential in accordance with state and federal laws.

There are a few exceptions to confidentiality, including:

  • Risk of harm to yourself or others

  • Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable individual

  • Court orders or legal requirements

These limits will be discussed in more detail prior to beginning services.

Telehealth Services

Virtual therapy services are provided through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. While every effort is made to protect your privacy, there are inherent risks to electronic communication.

By choosing telehealth, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

Private Pay & Insurance

Healing Hearts of Texas is a private pay practice and does not accept insurance at this time.

Clients are responsible for payment at the time of service.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee.

No Emergency Services

This practice does not provide emergency or crisis services.

If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
You may also contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE (No Surprises Act)

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining the expected cost of your medical and mental health care.

Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers are required to provide an estimate of expected charges for services to clients who are not using insurance.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of services.

  • You may request this estimate before scheduling services or at any time during treatment.

  • The estimate is based on the information known at the time and may change depending on your needs.

Estimated Cost of Services

At Healing Hearts of Texas, current rates are:

  • 45-minute session: $70

  • 60-minute session: $90

The total cost of treatment will depend on:

  • The number of sessions

  • Frequency of sessions

  • Your individual goals and needs

Dispute Resolution

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill.

You may initiate a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
